Q: What were/are your hobbies/what you do for enjoyment?
A: Now that the kids are little older I’m playing more golf. In addition to that I love to shoot guns and down hill ski when I get the chance.
Q: What was your most embarrassing moment growing up? Any funny stories?
A: I’ve repressed any bad memories.
Q: Did you have a love of reading when growing up?
A: No. I grew up dyslexic and didn’t begin to enjoy reading until I was 20.
Q: What are your goals in life?
A: Keep doing what I love and stay faithful to my wife and kids.
Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
A: Literally everything. We live in extremely interesting times.
Q: What's your favorite television show/movie?
A: It’s a tie between 24 and Battlestar Galactica.
Q: What high school/university did you attend?
A: St. Thomas Academy and the University of St. Thomas.
Q: What did you do following school?
A: I started out at Kraft General Foods, tried to fly for the Marine Corps, but was medically disqualified. I then ended up in commercial real estate for a few years before striking out to write my first novel.
Q: Worked at a bar right? Where? How long? Did you enjoy bartending? Would you ever want to do it again? What's your favorite beer?
A: I loved bartending. I worked at two places while writing; Ogara’s and Plums, both in St. Paul. I bar tend every time we have a party. My favorite beer back then was Grain Belt Premium.
Q: What is your favorite sport to watch? Favorite teams?
A: College Football. My favorite teams are the University of Minnesota, Michigan and Penn State.
