I hope VF doesn't put too much focus on MR's love life.
Thats what Danielle Steele is for. Cheesy
Amen brother!
I am soooo ok with Mitch's love life not being mentioned as it is all about Mitch and the action for me.  And SC.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind if there was a new female introduced either, as long as she's not some b****y liberal reporter type - the kind that would very likely never marry an assassin type to begin with.  (Sorry Vince.)  If a chick is introduced, she needs to be the kind that will clean his guns for him while he's eating the dinner she cooked for him.

It could happen!   Cheesy

I think VF puts in a few "reality checks" for Mitch, so he's not so pent up with sexual frustration that he just starts running around killing people that don't really deserve it.

Ya gotta keep something there. Many women wouldn't read these books if VF didn;t add something like that. And you have to remember this: Any relationship makes the main character more rounded and more interesting.

Hi.  New to the board.  I was just thinking of some loose threads from this book and a few others:

1) Karim - I would assume he will be pursued in the future

2) Leland

3) A few books back there was a woman who worked for the VP that had the president's wife killed.  She was a real piece of work.  What happened to her?

4) Will the assasins that killed Anna ever resurface?

5) Donatella

I know that there are tons more, but these just came to me.

Karim most definitely will be pursued

leland's a b!tch that will get what he deserves, His own captain basically called him a liar and he has to know that his actions impeded a possible chance to prevent the attacks.

there have been plenty of women that have been piece's of work, you are going to have to be more spcific, lol

There is speculation that Mitch will have to team up with Louis in a future book

donatella has to resurface, although I am sure that she is no longer working with Friedman who tried to have her killed in SOP to tie up a loose end. Maybe that's who Mitch will end up with in the end.

I just read Extreme Measures.
I didn't like the way Nash was treated.  I was interested in his struggle between his family and his work.  Does everyone have to think like Mitch to work for him?  And I don't like what they did to him, all behind his back.  If I was his wife I would not have gone along with it.  Making a major dicision about my husband's career without him knowing, unrealistic!
A man's is very important to him, it is how he defines himself.  I understand once the deed is done he doesn't have much of a choice; but living with this is going to cause much anger.
Come on men out there tell me I am right!

Also I don't want to hear from Mitch the 'Cry Baby' anymore about his death wife and child.  He needs to get over it and move on with his life.  Life is full of tragedy.

To work for someone like Mitch, and there are those who really have that line of work, I would bet lives depend on one's ability to separate personal problems from the task at hand. So, yeah, Mitch either forces him to snap out of it or forces him out of the game.

Oh, and BTW....you may change your tune about the "cry baby" situation when you bury your spouse. Trust me on this.

Just finished the book last night.  It was really good, but I liked Protect & Defend better.  That being said, I think VF wanted to get this book out there to show, how the party politics really gets in the way of their ability to do what needs to be done.

I really liked Nash.  I think the struggle it shows with balancing family and being a CIA spy, is real.

I would have liked to seen more of Kennedy and Alexander in this book, but it worked for its purpose.  It just seemed like with President Alexander being SO behind Rapp previously, that he would have told Lonsdale to go fly a kite and leave Rapp and the CIA alone.

Well, luckily since I was so late getting into VF books, I am able to go right into Pursuit of Honor.  Seems good so far...

Extreme Measures 5 out of 5 Stars

1 Star – Bad/ 2 Stars – underwhelming/ 3 Stars – Good/ 4 Stars – Very Good/ 5 Stars – Excellent

Just finished Extreme Measures and the ending was just like something out of 24. There was tension and action and so many things that were just so right about the ideas used to fight terrorism that liberals are blind too.

This book introduces Mike Nash who is a CIA agent that is working with Mitch Rapp to stop radical Islamic terrorists who are planning another attack on the US, Washington D.C. to be precise. Unlike the loner who is Mitch Rapp, Mike Nash has a family and in interrogations gets into the mind of the terrorist to get information where as Rapp forces the info out.

There is a Senator by the name of Lonsdale and she is one of those liberals who would rather read a terrorist his rights and give him cable TV  and a cup of coffee in the hope that maybe someday he will think the US is so nice to me maybe I should tell them the name of my friends… of course by then his sick heathen friends would have already attacked and blown themselves up, killing Americans on their way to paradise with 72 virgins. The facts are laid out and by the end of the book there comes a bitter sweet chapter on her characters eye opening clarity to the situation. I think her character may have been based on Nancy Pelosi herself but part of me believes Pelosi would still end up bitter and political driven in the same situation.

I really liked the introduction of Mike Nash because the Rapp character was becoming a bit formulaic and in this way using Nash as more the star character we still got to see Rapp in action but we got something new too. I know this ends in a way that sets up the next one to conclude this story and Nash will be in Pursuit of Honor but I really hope Vince Flynn will tell more stories involving Nash in the future.

The paper back for Pursuit of Honor comes out August 31st so I’ll be anxiously anticipating the conclusion to this story between now and then.

Not bad for starting with Term Limits at the beginning of January and then barreling on through each book.  Smiley

Term Limits – 5 out of 5 Stars

Transfer of Power – 3 out of 5 Stars

The Third Option – 3 out of 5 Stars

Separation of Power – 3 out of 5 Stars
