Extreme Measures 5 out of 5 Stars
1 Star Bad/ 2 Stars underwhelming/ 3 Stars Good/ 4 Stars Very Good/ 5 Stars Excellent
Just finished Extreme Measures and the ending was just like something out of 24. There was tension and action and so many things that were just so right about the ideas used to fight terrorism that liberals are blind too.
This book introduces Mike Nash who is a CIA agent that is working with Mitch Rapp to stop radical Islamic terrorists who are planning another attack on the US, Washington D.C. to be precise. Unlike the loner who is Mitch Rapp, Mike Nash has a family and in interrogations gets into the mind of the terrorist to get information where as Rapp forces the info out.
There is a Senator by the name of Lonsdale and she is one of those liberals who would rather read a terrorist his rights and give him cable TV and a cup of coffee in the hope that maybe someday he will think the US is so nice to me maybe I should tell them the name of my friends
of course by then his sick heathen friends would have already attacked and blown themselves up, killing Americans on their way to paradise with 72 virgins. The facts are laid out and by the end of the book there comes a bitter sweet chapter on her characters eye opening clarity to the situation. I think her character may have been based on Nancy Pelosi herself but part of me believes Pelosi would still end up bitter and political driven in the same situation.
I really liked the introduction of Mike Nash because the Rapp character was becoming a bit formulaic and in this way using Nash as more the star character we still got to see Rapp in action but we got something new too. I know this ends in a way that sets up the next one to conclude this story and Nash will be in Pursuit of Honor but I really hope Vince Flynn will tell more stories involving Nash in the future.
The paper back for Pursuit of Honor comes out August 31st so Ill be anxiously anticipating the conclusion to this story between now and then.
Not bad for starting with Term Limits at the beginning of January and then barreling on through each book.
